One of me

...I am faced with yet another tough choice. (1) Take the job in Tokyo. (2) Date A and stay in Australia for afew years then travel oversea to work after she graduate. (3) Work in a corporate job in Sydney.

Times like this I wish there are many of me so I can do it all.

My favourite tool is the knife (prefebly the kitchen knife). The blade should be about 7" inch long, if the knife is too short it cant reach the vital organs, if the blade is too thin it will break when it hit the bones. When stab, the knife should be rotated to 90 degree, therefore the handle should be wrap with fabric for better gribs. I miss you - but I miss the sex game more.

Project demo

...Our Sydney uni project demonstration for HP Lab, we did well.

It has rained all week, the rain kept me away from going back to rowing.

Oscar Wilde b'day

...Happiest birthday Oscar Wilde, October 1854 - November 1900.

The Ideal Man should talk to us as if we were goddesses, and treat us as if we were children. He should refuse all our serious requests, and gratify every one of our whims. He should encourage us to have caprices, and forbid us to have missions. He should always say much more than he means, and always mean much more than he says.
- Oscar Wilde, Mrs. Allonby in A Woman of No Importance (1893)

Ironbark House

...Anh Viet & Faen's 1 month party for the newly arrive baby boy.

Weekend home? My love nest? Share the house key around to friends, family, relatives and work colleagues who need a country view holiday?

People who say "wont", "cant", and "impossible" are weak, and often failed. We are here for a good time, not for a long time.

I have a soft spot for Asian girl with short hair.

The music book

...Won afew bucks from tipping on the West Tigers in the NRL Grand Final game. I dont take much interest in sport I dont play. The company managers are footy and horse racing fanatics, I had no choice but to tip in with them.

...Alex, Benjamin, Sussan, Tin and Jin was there, its almost like a Chesso highschool reunion!

Career

...I've been busy working, the hours are long, always act in good faith and in the best interest of the company. At times I feel my talents are wasting away, I wont wait around for another 7 years to get into management, 7 years stands in the way of progress.

Take some risks, like a kid playing the board game of snake, jumping ahead and avoid beaten by the snakes. You'll come out on top or die trying. This life is too short to play safe.

So I decided to transfer all my university credits and together with my commercial experience to enroll in the a master degree. Once I'm out I'll be involve more into planning, decision making and managing, no more winding about in Information Technology. The plan is to be on the board of managers before my 30th birthday.

And then its oversea for me.

Resource Description Framework (RDF)

...I'm more than just a pretty face ^_^

The parent

...Came to uni to enroll in another subject, closer to completing my degree, to get the parents off my back.

I hate it when my parents are trying to influence my decisions - it just give me more reason to move oversea. I'm at a point in life where my career is the priority; it is impossible to reach my full potential when they're around.

Shes been working 9-10hrs a day trying to get the budget plan out for next financial year. Sweet girl, working so hard.

Aunty

...Aunty has a mis-carriage. Sent her some flowers, well soon.

I watch BASIN CITY on the projector for the third time, I just love movie where the hero dies at the end.

Care for a smoke?

...I want to live in SIN CITY as The Salesman in the short story The Customer is Always Right. The Customer is Always Right involves an enigmatic tryst between two nameless characters; "The Customer" and "The Salesman." They meet on the terrace of a high rise building, hinting that although they seem to be acting like strangers, they do indeed have some sort of past. It is unclear what their past involves even as they embrace in a passionate kiss. A silenced gunshot stabs the night air to reveal that The Salesman has shot The Customer. The reader is lead to believe that The Customer had fallen into a serious and difficult situation and with no other feasible alternative, hired The Salesman to kill her. This short served as the opening sequence for the movie Sin City. I'd seen it twice on pirated version. This film is a master piece; filming techniques, characters, dialect and the killings.. need to buy this movie on DVD.

Dear Mr Nguyen

Request for permission to archive KhoaDo.net

Since then we have been identifying online publications and archiving those that we consider have national significance. Additional information about PANDORA can be found on the Library's server at: http://pandora.nla.gov.au/index.html

Stoned on Tuesday

...Getting stoned at Vincent's. I'm a bad influence among my friends.

Renovation, day 8

...Back to the office. Glad to be back, but hate that it is Monday, Monday always bring problems.

Meeting with Associate Professor Alan Fekete about my degree and subject selection. I miss my old school.

More renovation, floor sanding and finishes. Should be ready to move in mid-next week. The plan is to knock it down in 5-10 years and rebuild.

Some guy in the Pentagon has to fucked it up

...The London bombing got me thinking; why am I here?

In the past 20 years, we have enjoy a relatively peaceful existence. Life is good, advancement in science and technology, break through in medical science and open our eyes through galaxies and beyond.

Perhaps the greatest archievement of all is the creation of the Internet, its a resurrection of The Royal Library of Alexandria - widely available to those willing to explore and learn.

Then some guy in the Pentagon has to fucked it up. Here comes another war (The War Against Terror?), this then follow by decades of suffering that it causes. Its no point saving the world, because we seek to destroys everything we creates.

As for me, I dont plan to live forever, because tomorrow may never come. So I do what I always do; enjoying life while its still beautiful and good.

Renovation, day 3

...House on The Avenue - clean out the gutter.

House on Hughes Street - sanding, trial 1st layer paint.

I took 5 days annual leave from work planning to hang out with H, but I was only 2nd best to her.

This is my new toy..

Renovation, day 2

...House on The Avenue - finished paint for master bedroom, 2nd bedroom, dinning room and lounge room.

House on Hughes Street - old wallpaper removed, ready for 1st layer of paint.

Trisha's birthday

...8km practice run at Lake Gillawarna with Mel, Ken, Kevin, Mario and Joseph. I was at the back of the pack; need to cut down on my drinking and smoking.

Trisha's 1st birthday - through tradition, it believed that on the the child's first birthday she must select an item layout on the plate. This will determine her career path - a comb means becoming a beauty queen, a pen means becoming a scholar, food means becoming a house-wife, etc etc.

I love aunty's cooking.

Drinking with my cousine and his boys. It looked like I'll get a Honda CBR250RR from Luong, an ex-rider.

Renovation, day 1

...Its odd how the only time the males in our family bond, is when there's a heavy job todo; like mounting car engine and renovating house.

House on The Avenue - carport demolition, sanding, trial 1st layer paint.

House on Hughes Street - cleaning up, call for quote to installing ground floor toilet.

I'm in the market for a Kawasaki ZX2R Ninja and helmet.

Paying tax

...Parking infringements; just a faster way of paying tax.

Made afew calls to the Roads and Traffic Authority (NSW) requesting for the current Australian Road Rules legislations. Its a long short, so I'm electing to the local magistrate, I'll appeal my case in court. Namely because I'm bored and wanted some amusement, courtesy of the legal system.

Re: hi

...The most beautiful girl in the world - Viet, short-hair, reading glasses, love arts & culture, beautiful, intelligent, everything I been saving myself up for.. oh well.

:) Hi Spongebob!

You're a hard person to get into contact with :)

How are you doing?

Scott.

Hey you guys!

...Afew internet friends I still keeping in contact over the years.

Live my life like I'm dying

...It's time to review the 5 years plan. I only have a short-term plan for things to do in the next 5 years.

Myself in 5 years time. Paid off at least 30% of the mortgage. The young days are over I need to find a girl and settling down, and starting a successful business.

Three years has past; it has exceeded my expectation. Business and career; both are doing well. Finding love; without success.

Afew things on my priority list - buy dad a car, get myself a sport motorcycle, do more renovation.

Home sweet home

...Starting renovation on the 2nd home, my little brother's place on The Avenue.

Hanging out with the boys! Vincent's birthday party; Jasmine organised awesome party everytime. While Quang and Qui kick out the jams.

Sunday is recovering day. Hence, I'm in no condition to drive to training with the Mel and the VADB gang.

Rained all day

...Got my licence upgraded to motorcycle (L) class.

Winter rain, it rained all day.

Dam vo

...Dam vo Ong Noi, a Vietnamese custom of worshipping the ancestors. This is a hard cencept to understand by the Anglo-Saxon or European. Because our custom started around 200 BC, long before the birth of Christ. It has been passed down from generation to generations and it's why I finds Asian culture as the most interesting.

In our household there are ancestral altars where the spirits of three generations is worship. Today is the death day of my late grandpa - offering of fruits and home cooked meal to the ancestral spirits. Its a time where family members gather and eat dinner together.

These days, I see alot of my Vietnamese-Australian friends having interracial relationships, its a very common thing. Though myself I prefers an Asian girl.

Ghost 1 has relocated to interstate, she got plans to move to VN when she sell her flat. Chatting to Ghost 4, it has been awhile.

Fairfield Fruitland

...Economic is the engine of our civilsation, but I'm against Free Trade. Free Trade strip the country of it's own minerals and resources. I dont like the American system; what they cant acquire through Free Trades, they rage war against that country, for example the war on Iraq.

They use terrorism as porn for the war. Bastard Americans.

If you think about it, it was stupid of the American to go to war for the sole purpose of oil. The cost of war at this moment stands at $177 billions. It will only cost them about one-third of that to buy oil from France, who has direct oil trade with the Iraq.

Stupid Americans. Hail to China to be the next superpower!

Enough politics. This afternoon I went grocery shopping. The path to my heart is through my tummy - obviously, I prefers local businesses over those (American owned) supermarkets, namely because of freshness and quality.

Fairfield Fruitland is one my favourite, its a Portagee-Australian family owned business, fruits and vegies are freshly picked from their own farms. Nothing has changed much over the years. Being a local business they care about their customers more than profits. They won the 1999 Small Business award.

When her friends are not around, Ghost 1 give me blowjob. That is one incredible woman.

Little sister's study room

...Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have my wish I wish tonight.

Little brother sold his 1997 2JZ GTE non-vvti Supra engine for $4700, to some Italian guy. He got bigger toy to play now, the house, so hes selling out his old toys.

Bop dit Ghost 1 in public, she didnt like it :) thats why its fun to do it.

Certified

...Do it yourself NSW residential leasing contract. Just some research and abit of Australian law knowledge is all it needed to write your own business contract with terms and condition to your advantage. Here's a copy if anyone interested.

Got my RTA Motorcycle Riding Certificate Of Competence today. Thanks to Andy, my cool instructor.

Planning a snow trip with the boys in August.

61 days to go!

...61 days to go until The Sun-Herald City to Surf - Australia's greatest 14km community fun-run.

I've registered in B group for the semi-serious joggers, I'll be running along with Mel and the gang from VADB.

This means I got to cut down on the drinking and smoking.

Vietnamese cuisine

...Hanging out with Hoa Nien group at Lansvale. Dinner at Yen's, bun mam, one of my favourite Southern Vietnam cuisine dish.

Jazz Festival

...Sydney Jazz festival at Darling Harbour. Dinner for one at The Rocks.

I just want my bike, so I can be an endangered specie. Oral sex with Ghost 1 was awesome, she been learning those stuffs from adult movies.

Drink myself to sleep

...Tonight I had accessive drinking at Wilson's and then at Dao's house. Vommited and still getting back on the drinking table.

I'm half drunk.. I heard Huong is going out with someone else now.. a little healthy competition?

Its 2am and I cant sleep. So I write to exhaust my brain then drink myself to sleep.

...When I was 12-year old I have a beautiful heart, it was glowing, there was not a mark or a flaw in it. You can say it was perfect.

13 years later this heart is jaded. It has harden and full of scars, it had places where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didn't quite fit, and there were several jagged edges. Even some places there were deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.

Youu see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love - tearing out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a piece of their heart in return, but because the pieces aren't exact, it have some rough edges.

Sometimes I have given a whole pieces of my heart away and the other person hasn't returned a piece of heart to me. These are the empty gouges - giving love is like taking chances. Although these gouges are painful, they stay open, reminding me of those lost love.

This dear heart has jaded, but it holds plenty of memories.

Yeah, 2002 R6

...I want this R6 baby between my legs. Photos by Snark.

Smile Mel

...Smile like Mel.

Course

...Day 1, at the Parramatta Rider Training Centre for a motorcycle rider training course. Thrilling ride with a Honda 250cc engine box between my legs.

Financial review

...Getting my financial reports ready for the mid-yearly tax. Regret to say, I'm still in the rat-race, killer expenses are in the mortgage interests and the car.

As soon as the workshop rental start in late July, the cashflow will improve.

Feels like winter is coming

...Western Sydney Uni has approved the cross-institutional study application. RTA learner licence motorcycle rider training course approved.

Overloaded with project deadlines, stressful at times, and sometimes I just dont care anymore.

Going home is depressing cause no one's at home. Rather sit in the court yard with a cigarette.

Bad girl of the week

...Saaya Irie, the controversy 12-year old Japanese model. The Japan media is going crazy over this girl right now, with article headline like "11-year old F-cup beauty Saaya Stops Chinese Anti-Japanese Protests."

Botany

...Fishing at Botany with the boys.

CeBIT Australia

...Invitation to checkout the future solutions for Australian digital business world.

Side business

...The place on Hughes Street has become a workshop for Kim Harness Assembles Pty. The revenue come from rental and administration services from my property. I'm happy with the contract.

Friend

...Cuong and Hanh's engagement. Between me and my two childhood friends, I think I will be the last one to get marry.

Visiting Phuoc Hue temple for Vesak Day (birth of Buddha). Thinh talked me into taking a grade 6 maths class of 12 students, my class has 3-4 very exceptional students.

To make maths entertaining, each week I'll put up a quiz question from an advanced level textbook, they'll get rewarded if they can solve it. My ultimate goal is to get everyone to be at the same level.

Using petty cash from my side business on weekly reward for my students.

Garden

...Roses are red.

Autumn

...I bring my camera everywhere. But I'm not a photographer.

Motorcycle accident statistics

...About the risk analysis associated with motorcycle casualties, the odds are good.

Hunter Valley

...We've secure the deposit on the house on The Avenue, no more financial headache for awhile.

Day out with the boys through the Vine Country.

It is time to get a Kawasaki motorbike.

At the Sydney Home Show

...There I met the most beautiful girl in the world.

Ku-ring Gai national park

...If tomorrow never comes.

Milestone

...My curiosity has brought my attention to a journal on Intelligent Transport Systems Strategy. It was packed with amazing facts and ideas for our future transportation. I will never look at the transport industry the same way again, there are so many room for new innovation.

I'll set out my objective for management opportunity with another organisation to move higher up the social-chain. Because with my current company, its limited me from reaching my full potential.

Donated $200 to Free the Children to building schools project in China.

A day

...I need more hours in a day. 24 hours just isnt enough, work has been extremely busy. Everyday is a battle through the peak hour traffics; we really need to improve our transport system. I propose heavy freight transports to be intergrated into the rail system, this will take the straint off commuter travels and minimising damage to the road.

Perchance its approved by the State Rail, this could open doors to new business opportunities. Demands for manufacture of fleet management system, intergrated cargo handling system, on-board satellite navigation and phone capabilities, web access, speed limiter, head-up display (speed, revs, fuel and so on). It's a billion dollars industry.. waiting in traffics is the only I'm free to think outside the square.

7PM appointment with Mr Filippis to plan my homeloan. I wasnt impressed, he plainly offered me products from different banks.

Location Location #2

...On the surface its like any ordinary home. But after doing some background research, it is an outstanding place! Closed proximity to everything; schools, shops, railway, and sporting grounds (football, soccer, tennis, bowling).

There are already tenants, if they want to stay we are willing extend their leasing contract.

Its currently owned by an investor, who wants to sell it due to the recent market inflation.

Brother already has renovation plans. He got my full supports.

Escape

...Almost booked a ticket flight from Sydney to Coffs Coast; for some thinking space, but I didnt.

Being single #29

...Lastnight I couldnt sleep. With many thoughts and a heavy heart. Something triggered this depression. I put the song Creep playing in the background, tonight I drink myself to sleep.

The gang

...Dinner party with the dragon boat gang, all the girls look amazing; on the boat and off the boat. Hilarious awards were given out to the goods, the bads and the nasties rowers of the season.

I missed out for the team's Treasurer position, its hard to beat Chris who did such an exceptionally good job last season. Thanks the coaches for the award, for recognising my contribution to the team.

I'll start training for the City to Surf run, waiting for the time to pass. I believe in days ahead, and more good times will come.

Location location

...We found a 3 bedroom house (632 sqm) at a good location, fully brick built in the late 70's. Still negotiating on the price at the moment. I applied alot of what I learnt from my first home purchased experience, to avoid being bait to the estate agent and the bank manager.

The house was previously owned by a drug dealer.

If this deal is successful, my brother and I will move to the new place and rent out our current home. This means I have even tighter spending budget. I'm in debt upto me chin, but at least I have cashflow. Apparently I'm worth $370,000 on life insurance.

Chu Phuoc's house is accross the street. We can lookout for each other house while we're on holiday.

There's an old Vietnamese saying - "an cu lac nghiep"; meaning you must have a place call home before you can start your life.

Brother b'day

...Brother's birthday yesterday. All the male members in the family hate center of attention, only the girls in the family keen to organise stuffs.

Thank-you, Dr

...While doing my research I tumble across a publication from my long time mentor, Dr. Ian Gorton. He was truthly excellent. He answered all of my questions sincerely and honestly. He provided personal experiences as well as current trends in the field. He inspired me to be in my profession where I am today!

These days my work is based on system architecture and EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), in the world that is increasingly demanding for a single global electronic market.

Business has already seen the stand-alone computer give way to networks. The next big shift is from local networks to internet-based computing and EDI middleware is the key enabling technology behind this transition.

My current project is an Integrated Tracking Web Service, with the budget of $63,000 to spend. Follow by a Customer Portal project with a budget of $169,000.

Pee Mai Lao

...Happy Lao New Year! or its better known as the Water Festival. If my memory serves me right, many Asian countries today celebrate festivities according to the Buddhist calendar and famous legends, like the Mid-Autumn Festival, Tet and Chinese New Year Festival.

In Buddhism, water symbolises purity, clarity and calmness, and reminds us to cleanse our minds and attain the state of purity. Thus, the Water Festival is about clean the bad and disease away and gain the best wishes for next year, full of long lives, clean bodies and health.

In reality it is one massive wet and wild day! I was at the Wat Phrayortkeo Dhammayanaram Lao temple getting soaked and tasting delicious spicy food.

Karaoke bar

...Revisit the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre for a history lesson.

By night I'm an out-of-control-alcoholic-freak. Vincent is back from his Asia trip, fresh from the airport to a karaoke bar somewhere in Campsie.

The song Creep by Radiohead has alot of appeals to me.. and Dav gets violence when drunk, "do it again Dav!"

iFriends

...Catching up with my ifriends (Internet friends) who I been ignoring for while. Sorry guys, life has been really fast lately.

Suong sent me the Turkish March music sheet to practice, its too hard. I got distracted with closed up angles with the camera.

A patch of my hair is turning pale, gray hair will follows. Baggy eyes, its 1:05AM, I need sleep.

Lounge about arts

...Intimate talks on the Lounge About Arts at the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre. Very fun and mellow, for people who is passionate about arts and local community projects.

Tonight topic explores the motivations and efforts in making the film THE FINISHED PEOPLE. Its what I love about Anh Khoa's works, its very authentics and insightful of people and their enviroment. Presented by Jaimie Leonarder, Khoa Do and the main cast of the film - Jason McGoldrick, Joe Le and Sarah Vongmany.

Special thanks to Anh Cuong Le for sending me the invitation, I'll be there this Saturday for the launch of THE FALL OF SAIGON exhibition.

Being middle class

...Finishing work late today, too many deadlines. I decided to put my place on the market for $250,000, I'm going ahead with the relocation. I enrol two courses in the University of Western Sydney through cross institutional study.

I havent talk to J for awhile, dont know how she went with her exams. Thats the problem being middle class, you never have the time for the people you care about.

Bullets in the head

...Two criminals and a gang of police. Car chase, road block, two dogs jump out and attacks the police. Shots were fired, killed the one dog, one guy got away the other got thrown in the cage. Finish the other dog with two bullets in the head. Bloody, but cool stuff.

Chat with Dad about my relocation ideas, he gave me his supports and advice to widen my view, he's the greatest. He said to never give up, failure is when you stop trying.

The workshop

...Delicious vegetarian lunch at Phuoc Hau temple, headed by abbot Ven. Thich Quang Nghiem. Its where we leave memories of my grandma.

Visiting uncle's farm to organise space for my workshop, gathering measurements and materials.

Drop by the office for afew hours, got something to do..

More and more I see myself using this camera to keep mental notes, it has nothing to do with photography.

Being single #28

...Saturday guitar class, I havent been turning up regularly, I got lots of catching up to do.

Still looking for that right house, so far nothing yet.

Whats recent on my schedules; house search, paperwork with the bank, Virgin credit card for little sister, re-enrolling to uni semester 2, mentoring new jr. engineers.

Whats upcoming on my schedules; dragon boat season has ended, start inventing a makeshift bike to kill time on my Sundays, its an enviromental friendly vehicle, solar powered used in farm harvesting work. Also, I'm collaborating on a new enterprise content integration IT project, it's a brave and new directions in Web Services for the company. If I have any free time after all these, I'll look for love; I have no sexlife lately.. PoisonIvy: Every guy has some pornography? (magazines, on computer, dvds)
scottn: you got that right! my favourites are soft porns.. check out this bad girl.

Break and enter

...Coming to the office in early hours of the morning, I notice some crack glasses when I walk pass the exit door. When I entered the office I immediately realise there has been a break in, 5 guys attempting to steal two LG Plasma TVs in the customer service center. The alarm went off, it look like they left empty handed and in a hurry, leaving behind a mess. The police came for some DNAs, they are looking after the matter now.

PS: im happy with Virgin Credit Card service, applying for another card for little sister so I can teach her use responsibility.

Bits of memories

...Being the Anh Hai (eldest) in the family carry responsibilities. My little brother is undecided about his future, I wanted him to committed to his financial portfolio. His choices are simple; (1) If he chose to work full-time then lets buy a bigger house, with land and a lemon tree. (2) If he chose to studies then we stay where we are and increase the mortgage repayments. Neither way he got my full support and he's saving up money.

Chu Tay show me photos of his Boatpeople Reunion trip to Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. This is where I grew up, I wanted to go badly, but an organiser said it was cancelled due to the tsunami and earthquakes. In the end they re-open and only a handful of people went.. I wasnt informed!

Human nature

...How do you measure kindness of the human heart? It's only after the person's death that we are truthly understand that value. Its human nature.

I was raised from a Buddhism family and adopt Confucianism learning in my teens, growing up I admires people with great moral values and who is passionate about their work.

I was moved to hear His Holiness Pope John Paul II has passed away. The world has loss a hero. But in times like this everyone will know about his works. Many of us will be inspired by his visions and continue on with his work, as an outcome, tens of thousands hero will be born. I believe the world will be a better place.

State Titles

...Our team state finals today at Penrith, last race for this season. I didnt competes, I came late, got caught up with work and family matter to take care first. We had a fun day nonetheless. Next season I'll be interested in the treasurer position in the team committee.

After party at V-bar, mostly boring RNB - bar rating, 2.7 hip hoppin' monkeys out of 10... Met up with Tu Anh at the bar, shes growing up to be quite a charmer; just like her mum.

The fear of commitment is still there, there are so many things I havent yet achieve; and I'm only half way there. Being single is still fun. Thus I'm putting career first, because its an easier option.

Co Kim

...Co Kim, my new business relation, she owns an assemble warehouse with 50 staffs in Sydney. Starting from today I commit 2 hours every week with her for consultation and business review. She wants to pick my brain because I'm full of ideas.

New challenge

...I decided to set a 15 years goal, something practical yet challenging. I will start up by searching for a block of land to complete a task on my Things TODO list - 50. owns a holiday appartment/house. The criteria are as follows:

  • At least 500m²
  • Proximity of the beach
  • Between Coffs Harbour and Tuross Head

This will be my safe haven, where I'll stay for peace and tranquility. And for family, friends, relatives or work colleagues who wants a weekend holiday.

PS: Cashflow of $30k p.a. is required, should put under spouse's name to avoid government's land tax.

From Melbourne with memories

Nudity, secret, drug or worthy note for future self.

Long weekend end

...Thats the end of the four days long weekend. No training, I dont know what to do with my free time. I really need to pickup another sport, maybe tennis or join the kayaking club at Penrith.

I still keep dragon boat rowing, only because Julie is still around.

Spoon & Trouble #2

...Its true what they say about dogs. Dogs are man's bestfriends, I love these two furry little guys.

Day out

...Easter lunch at Nobbys with colleagues. Nobbys Island was first noted by Captain Cook on the ship Endeavor in 1770, it is Newcastle's famous landmark harbour. This was once the biggest coal trading port in Australia, nowadays its for us young beach goer.

Being single #24

...More house hunting, still havent found one with all the qualities I wanted. Followed my first home buyer experience I'd learnt alot, advice from friends and professionals also made a great differences. Today I'm better equip, ready to make major purchase with confident.

I have no spouse and zero dependants, the banks are willing to loan me any amount I asked. This year resolution is to increase my assets and liabilities while maintaining a budget to lower my expenses. At the same time I still keep an eye out for any potential business opportunity.

Favourite car

...My favourite car has let me down; clutch/gearbox problem. Trade this one in to get another one soon, I still love this car.. alot, I've grown attached to it over the years.

Good friday holiday, chilling out at home, music, bills and paperwork for the bank.

Hilton Sydney

...Interview for an opportunity at the new Hilton Sydney Hotel. I'm interested in the Technology department, I want to be responsible for communication and video conferencing. Thanks to Angie for reminding me about the interview appointment, I totally forgot about it.

Waterside

...Looking for new place to buy. I checked out this place in Carramar - 3 bedroom house, waterside, 700m², closed to school and public transport. $270,000.

Buy now? factors to consider: flash flooding area, no real longterm growth, dirty cheap, closed to highway, a starting block for my little brother, we can build a cool villa here.

I seeked advice from friends and professionals, they all sugguests I should look around more, interest rates is rising all the nervous property investors are selling out cheap. I feel like a kid going treasure hunting.

Its a love story

...I found an old photograph of my grand parents, in front of our old home during the French occupation. They have French names; Phaolô and Maria. Grandpa taught me how to swim & hunts, and Grandma would tell bedtime stories. They met in mua hè (France: de l'été) (English: summer harvest season) and their love span for over 50 years. Setting an example for everyone in my family tree.

Julie's and Anna's 21st

...Saturday. Guitar class, after class I like to drive out to the country side for chill out time and practice.

Julie's and Anna's 21st, wow that special age where parents left their daughters go wild. Cool b'day party, to be honest I couldnt remember much from lastnight, all I remembered was Julie looked awesome!

Sunday. 3 hours of sleep and up I go to the NSW Corporate Games.

Tamagotchi

...Stopping by Aunty's house for a visit before going to work, shes leavign to Vietnam after her 3 months holiday in Australia.

In the recent looming in inflation and rising interest rates I decided to refinance my homeloan to a more competitive bank, Westpac. I also decided to change my current bank manager because he failed to keep me inform with the financial market. Lets see if the new bank manager can do a better job.

Money is just an idea, its like a tamagotchi game, make the right moves and your better off in the long run.

Gift for her

...I wanted to do shopping with J to get something she need, something she likes, something useful, but I got told off. So instead I got her something simple to keep her smiling, with a little supprise at page 21 (hints: 3 Doors Down)

A guy need to eat

...I know it's time for grocery shopping when..

Tuesday training

...Tuesday training with Will & Khanh, mad session. Where's Julie today?

Rosehill Gardens

...A great business opportunity has passed by, back in November I wanted to open a cafeteria at Rosehill industrial area. Today someone is building a cafe on that same block of land! I regretted it because I didnt have enough financial backing then.

This area is still a gold mine for business investors, I like to build a gym and aquatic recreational centre here. People like to keep fit after the day at the office, and coffee is available next door, the Rosehill Gardens racecourse is accross the road. Thats the modern Aussie lifestyle. In the near future appartment blocks will be sprawn in this area as people are moving closer to where they work.

I'm writing a business proposal to the Senior Management at Rosehill Gardens to sponsor of my project.

Spear fishing

...Saturday. Guitar class, I can read music notes now. Playing snooker for beer with the boys at Bankstown Sporty.

Chopped

...Meeting with my bank manager about increasing my mortgage repayments, since the promotion & pay rise, I better use that to my advantage and pay off the homeloan interest.

Rock up to table tennis at Mounties with the boys. Didnt know there's a competition every Friday night, we signed up anyway. I got chopped from every angle.

What to get

...Thursday night training, winds SE at 10 knots.

Julie's birthday is coming soon, shes organising it at Pyrmont Bridge Hotel. Strictly invitation only. Its a MUST ATTEND event for me, I dont know what to get for her.

Day off

...It's my day off, dont know what to do. Wanted to go back to the office and check up on how are my projects going.

Wanted to call Julie out for a picnic, rather not, I havent received any signal that shes interested in me. So its just me and my book.

Tennis match with the boys at Birrong.

An intangible commodity

...Our trip to Melbourne was more like a business brainstorming meeting on the road, its chillin' out time for creative thinking. I'm thrilled to know friends who wanted to startup businesses as well - 20 something and full of potentials.

My first B2B systems & solutions business wasnt successful, so this time around I'm investing into intangible asset of branding. If things goes as plan I will have no problem retiring at age 37.

Weekend @ Grand Prix

...A commodity trader, two engineers, an investment advisor and a pharmacist at the 2005 Melbourne Grand Prix. Fantastic weekend!

Each visit is better than the last - friends, the nightlife, live bands, Melbourne is the place to be. I could get marry and live happily here.

Spoon & Trouble

...My 4-legged friends, Spoon & Trouble, they go crazy when I'm around. Well here I am, look I got yummy treats.

And another pay rise

...The senior management have a meeting, when they finished I was asked to sign the dotted line. Another pay rise for me, that rounds up to $50,000 a year.

Despite the good news I still wants to pursue the role of Software Development Manager with SIRCA, with an $80,000+ package. After all these settle I'll get two FORD Falcons - one for me and the other for Dad.

Sydney Fish Market

...Sunday training, mostly cloudy day, winds at 13 knots. Mid-way through training we dock with Hoang dad's boat for some snacks and beer. The beer taste unbelievably good.

After training walking over to the Sydney Fish Market for some lite lunch.

New start

...My first music lesson today, after so long. Back to basic for me, I was told to get a new set of steel strings, the current ones are all worn out.

Helping Khoi moving bricks, his little castle is underconstruction, the backyard can fit a tennis court.

News of a financial serices organisation going commercialise, so I'm applying for Senior Software or Software Development Manager role for $70K+ a year. If I get it I'll resign from my current company.

A Night For Asia

...A successful night of concert and entertainment, raising funds for the Asian tsunami victims. Tonight we shine the spirit of Vietnamese community in support and assists those who are misfortunate.

All proceeds on the night will go to CARE Australia. CARE Australia is Australia's second largest foreign aid organisation, providing humanitarian assistance to developing countries across the globe. It was formed in 1987 by our former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser.

If you ask a Vietnamese girl the chances are she'll have a pair of Ao Dai, ask a Vietnamese guy and the chances are he can play guitar. Its a Vietnamese thing.

Being single #27

...Thursday training.

I wont be attendign the Doing It For The Kids charity function at IMAX this Saturday, but I bought raffle tickets in support. My favourite charity still is the Free the Children, I have been their supporter since the early 1993.

In my lifetime I want to establish a school, a girls school. Because I believe an educated girl is an educated mother, they will uplift the mind of the childrens and therefore making a better society.

Olivia's leaving

...Its Olivia H last day at the office, Marketing Department will be empty without her. I'm gonna miss all the free chocolate cookies, lunch and the after work drives home. Though I'm happy for her that she finally found the new job inline with her career path and closer to home. Goodluck for the future Olivia.

...Tuesday training with Will and Khanh is way cool. Light to moderate south to southeast winds at 10 knots.

Since Alex left the company, most of his resposibilities has fallen back to me. Robert, Software Manager is on annual leave, I pick up the projects and appointments where he left off. It's been very stressful at work. At times I stayed back at the office, because no one is waiting for me at home. I guess training is balancing out my social life.

At home

...Stayed at home; its been rainning all day. Enrolled in classical guitar class at the Vietnamese Traditional Music School with Khoi, 12PM-2PM every Saturday, hopefully I'll take it seriously this time around, so I can play harder songs.

Revising my old music notes. I have a crush on Julie.

Race day

...We had the ultimate race day at the Chinese New Year Dragon Boat racing competition. Today's sky is red, there will be a storm today, as the saying goes Red sky at night, sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor's warning.

We're making the kill in Mixed division B, our team ranked 1st. Youth division we came 3rd overall. Thanks for making it a memorable day, next up the State Titles in Canberra.

Happy 22nd birthday Clarissa.. sorry I wont make it to your cocktail birthday party tonight.

The spoilt one

...Little sister has officially earn her tittle as Miss Nguyen. She's started tutoring a class of juniors as at yesterday. Nonetheless I still spoilt her with weekly pocket money and letting her go out as late as 4am. I will deck anyone who mistreat her.

A night for Asia

...Tuesday training with Will and Khanh is awesome! My last training session for the week, saving my energy for the Chinese New Year Dragon Boat competition this Saturday at Darling Harbour.

On Marie's request. A Night for Asia is a charity dinner raising funds for the tsunami victims, see you there.

This Valentines

...Just remembered its Valentine's Day on the way home from work. Called up Ghost 1. I took the long road home. Picked some roses for Valentine and wild flowers, I wanted yellow ones, as to say - We are friends, the sex were good, happy Valentine's day.

Tet

...The Vietnamese New Year is called Tet. It is commonly believed that the first person to enter your house at New Year will bring either good or bad luck. During this holiday we frequently visit our friends and relatives to give li xi (red envelopes) to the childrens because they bring happiness, joy, and good luck. It's believed that the Ong Tao (Kitchen God) in every home travels to Heaven at the New Year. This God who was privy to the family's most private business and intimate secrets for the ending year, returns to Heaven to make his report to the Ngoc Hoang (Jade Emperor). Thus, the New Year is a time to reflect on the past and improve in the future. In our folklore the God travels to heaven on the back of a fish, called a carp. That is why today some people will buy a live carp, and then free it in a river or pond.

In Australia, every year we have the Vietnamese New Year Festival, this yearly event attended by over 20,000 people and is the highlight of the Vietnamese-Australian calendar. It is held at Warrick Farm, for many of us youngers, at day we work/study at night we enjoy the life of feast and festivities. Nightlife is spectacular.

On the night our Vietnamese-Australian Dragon Boat (VADB) stall attacks the happy crowd with free ballons for the kids.

...Executive decision making time. Hoang Girl asking me to rent a place with her and afew friends, this will be a good time to sit down and work out my cashflows.

Once again accountability has overcome my desires, I dont want negative cashflow of $160 monthly.

Should I move out and rent my existing place? factors to consider: living with a bunch of girls bound to have lesbian actions. Also means I have to pick them up after work everyday. Always someone to cook and clean.

Staying where I am? factors to consider: saving more and getting closer to my dream of starting a business. A place for my brother to stay so I can take care of him, since he's financially illiterate. A place where my sister smash when shes going out and came home at 4am. Its too small here I want a bigger house with land.

Conversation with R.B. at 2005-02-10 20:11:06 on half_man_half_shark@hotmail.com (msn)
(20:13:33) scottn: go over my cashflow again? my monthly interests is $1020.00
(20:13:43) R.B.: heheheh
(20:13:58) scottn: assuming i pay renntal ~$70
(20:14:12) R.B.: how much is your rental income ?
(20:14:25) scottn: ~$180
(20:14:48) R.B.: that's $720 of rental income
(20:15:05) R.B.: which mean you can claim $300
(20:15:12) R.B.: per month
(20:16:16) R.B.: plus $100 for council + water service
(20:16:21) R.B.: that's $400 in total
(20:16:53) R.B.: you can claim 30% of $400 = $120
(20:17:14) R.B.: however... your rent is $70 per week = $280/month
(20:17:29) R.B.: net cash flow = -$160
(20:17:37) R.B.: so you will loose $160 per month
(20:17:50) scottn: thats not good at all
(20:18:05) R.B.: that's only a rough estimate
(20:18:10) scottn: but if im staying then i keep feeding money to the mortgage monster
(20:18:47) R.B.: yeah
(20:19:38) scottn: i loose both ways, cause if i stay I cant claims anything back from tax
(20:19:43) R.B.: you are on $45K now ?
(20:19:48) scottn: yeap, very closed to 50K
(20:20:07) R.B.: yeah it's 30% for you
(20:20:46) scottn: i can increase my mortgage payment and rental income to lower down the house interest payments?
(20:20:53) R.B.: yes
(20:20:59) R.B.: which bank are you with ?
(20:21:05) R.B.: for your mortgage
(20:21:30) scottn: "best mortgage solution" 7.05%
(20:21:38) R.B.: and is it variable ?
(20:21:44) R.B.: or fixed term ?
(20:22:55) scottn: after first 12 months its variable rate, im on variable rate now
(20:23:17) R.B.: in that case... whatever money you got spare ... put in the house
(20:23:46) R.B.: if you need the money you can always withdraw afterward....
(20:23:57) R.B.: but check if you have to pay any fees...
(20:25:03) scottn: if i increase my mortgage payment + the rental incomes to my weekly mortgage will that lower the interest much?
(20:25:57) R.B.: yes... it will shorten your loan period...
(20:26:25) scottn: which means i have to eat 2 mins noodle for lunch everyday for the next 7 years
(20:26:31) R.B.: hahahha
(20:26:38) R.B.: no
(20:26:42) scottn: hehe
(20:26:43) R.B.: it means you have to cook more
(20:26:49) R.B.: or leech off your mum
(20:26:57) R.B.: your mum's cooking
(20:27:17) scottn: but if im living with the other guys i can prepare lunch from home
(20:27:26) R.B.: yes that's right
(20:27:52) R.B.: the more people you live with... the better off you will be in term of financial...
(20:28:01) R.B.: b/c you will be sharing the fixed cost....
(20:31:07) R.B.: my suggestion: stay where you are, pay into the house every cents you have available
(20:34:32) scottn: i need money to spend on my girls
(20:34:35) scottn: hehe
(20:34:48) R.B.: hahhaha
(20:34:50) scottn: yeah i'll probably stay
(20:35:06) R.B.: :)

Chuc Mung Nam Moi

...Welcoming the year of the Rooster at Phuoc Hue Temple. I came to pick up a lucky charm for the new year. Meetup with old friends and new friends, came back to H's place for gambling and eating, 5 girls vs. 2 guys. Hot and humid day, everyone is stripping to their bare minimal.

The weekend @ Seal Rocks

...A commodity trader, a mechanic engineer, a software engineer, an investment advisor and a pharmacist going camping, snorkelling, fishing, surfing and smoking pot. Awesome weekend!

B-Boy

...Visiting my old campus, Sydney University - submitting letter to further defer my studies. The buildings hasnt changed, I havent changed, I still like them Asian girls from the Arts Faculty with their short cut hair and colourful fashion.

Prepare my gears for this weekend out with the boys. I'm supplying the substances (home grown) courtesy from N. I reckon marijuana should be made legal, its all natural. Its gonna be a fun weekend, getting high and snorkelling. We are so gonna be shark bait.

Day off work

...Got a day off work, making up for those days where I had to come to the office in weekend.

Driving to the country side to visit Uncle and continue reading the book I left there from my last visit. I gave a thought about building a house here on Uncle's land, I could live here and rent out my existing place. It's so nice and peaceful here, far away from the smoked city, and traveling to work is just an extra 15 mins.

Spaghetti dinner

...Rocking up to training straight after work. Moderate to fresh, gusty north to northeast winds ahead of a westerly change in the evening, wind speed at 14 knots.

I'm craving for a home cook meal, little sister cooking up her spaghetti dinner delight.

Websites

...Rocking up to training, it was humid. A few showers and drizzle areas. Light to moderate southeast winds at 13 knots.

Got home, got bored, so do further work on two websites; Vietnamese Australian Dragon Boat (www.vadb.asn.au) and Khoa Do biography (www.khoado.net).

Anh Khoa

...Drop by Anh Khoa's place for a visit, catch up on old times and about a new site KHOADO.NET. So many cool awards - a collection of Australian writer's awards, 2001 AFI award, 2003 IF award and mostly recently 2005 Young Australian of the Year award.

And a pet dog called Nugget.

Major sponsor

...Training on Thursday, total soaked, total fun. We found a new major sponsor, all our future uniforms and events will be sponsored.

Australia Day spectacular fireworks

...Firstly, my congratulations to Anh Khoa on winning the prestigious Young Australian of the Year 2005 award. This morning I received an email message from Mr Hoang, congratulating Anh Khoa and inviting Khoa to the annual Cinefest in Washington DC hosted by IBM. I already forward the message.

Alex farewell

...Alex Greyze, a work colleague's leaving. Farewell my friend, we shall meet again! We're gonna miss your jokes and your Russian food. In the meantime most of Alex's projects and responsibilities roll to me and Viet, these coming weeks is going to be hectic.

Facts about Krispy Kreme doughnuts - In 1933, Vernon Carver Rudolph founded Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation, he died in 1973, but had no estate plan for his family. As a result, Krispy Kreme had to be sold and Beatrice Foods Company of Chicago eventually acquired the company in 1976, and its family influence was lost. He failed to create a plan that would preserve and protect his business interests for his family. Today Krispy Kreme doughnut franchises grew internationally expanding their branches in Australia.

One of such branch is located in Liverpool (next to where I live), there's this cute Asian girl working there. I visits there frequently, on a lucky day I get served by her :P

Coffee at Brigten-Le-Sand beach.

Toukley race

...Dragon Boating race at Toukley hosted by the Central Coast Seadragons. All those trainings really paid off for us, our team ranked 2nd in category B of the Open Tournament. It was a tremendous efforts by the team and coaches considering that we're still a youth team playing against the best teams in NSW. Our focus now is on the next upcoming race during Lunar New Year.

After the race we headed to Avoca Beach to timeout and wave surfing in dangerous rip currents - heaps of fun though.

We spent the night over at Karisa parents' holiday house, it has a cool view overlooking Palm Beach. We made our own dinner, spike our own drinks and making each other drink till silly. The memorable moment were Linda and Karisa full on pashing each others while playing Truth or Dare - all the guys goes "Oooh oooh oooh..", nothing beats a good lesbian action.

The next morning I separated from the group and joining Vivent, Thao, Jeff and friends for deep sea fishing, unfortunately it was cancelled due to high wind, so we hire boat and fish at Brooklyn instead. Line fishing with my toes. Ending the 2 days adventure at Vicent's eating our catch.
